Kimberly proudly calls Kentucky home. She grew up in Bardstown where My Old Kentucky Home is located.

The daughter of two hard-working union parents, Kimberly learned at a young age the values of faith, family, community and commitment. She grew up in a household with loving parents that taught her that hard work, education, and standing up for what you believe would take you anywhere you want to go in life.

A natural leader, Kimberly applied this philosophy to everything that she touched. At the early age of 16 she held offices and competed nationally in Delta Epsilon Chi Association (DECA) competitions. She went on to attend Eastern Kentucky University and graduated near the top of her class.  She was a nominee for the Girl Scouts- 95 Outstanding Women in 2007.

While attending college she worked in her field of study. Her first job was with her university newspaper the Eastern Progress, and from there quickly went on to start selling broadcast television at the young age of 21.

After graduation, Kimberly settled in Louisville. She accepted a job at Landmark Community Newspapers, and then went on to work at WAVE 3 TV for seven years.

Kimberly left broadcast sales to become a national media consultant.  She is an entrepreneur and small business woman with her own media consulting firm, KAG Media Consulting.

Kimberly understands the struggles of working families and wants to make Kentucky a state that young people will want to stay and raise their families. She has experienced first hand the impact that proper health care means to families.  She lost her father to cancer in the spring of 2009.

Kimberly’s primary focus in the legislature will be to listen to the people of her district and to advocate and fight for a strong educational system from early childhood through higher education.

She knows that the key to good jobs is education and technical training and being a businesswoman, she knows what it takes to strengthen our economy.

Community service has been an important part of Kimberly’s life from a young age.  She has worked to support the following organizations:

Susan G Komen-Pink Tie Ball

Children’s Hospital Foundation Alliance

Leukemia Lymphoma Society

Humane Society

Strike Against Cancer Committee

American Heart Association
